Memorial Day 2023 Weekend Events

This Memorial Day weekend, we honor and thank all veterans and their families for their courage and sacrifices. Below are activities and events for the entire family this Memorial Day weekend:

  • Mon 5/29: Memorial Day Service at the Reagan Library (9:30AM)

    • Join the Reagan Library this Memorial Day as we honor the fallen men and women who served in the United States Military. The program will include live musical entertainment by the Los Angeles County Sheriff Band and Harpist veteran Thomas Baker, a flyover by the Tiger Squadron (weather permitting), Royal High School AFJROTC Color Guard, an Invocation by Naval Base Ventura County Command Chaplain, Commander Song Hwang, and keynote remarks.
  • Mon 5/29: Memorial Day Observance at Moorpark Veterans’ Memorial (10AM)

    • Memorial Day will be observed at the Moorpark Veterans Memorial, 608 Spring Road (at Flinn), on Monday, May 29, 2023 at 10 am. Men and women who have served, are serving and who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country will be honored.

  • Mon 5/29: Memorial Day Service at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks in Westlake Village (10:30AM music, 11AM service)

    • Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park at 5600 Lindero Canyon Road in Westlake Village will host its 32nd annual Memorial Day event in honor of those who have proudly served our country. This event is free and open to the public; we encourage everyone in the community to attend. There will be beautiful music, a band, and a flyover.
  • Mon 5/29: Moorpark Field of Valor Event at Tierra Rejada Park (1-4PM)

    • The Moorpark Field of Valor event on Memorial Day will include color guards, bagpipes and a moving tribute to our community’s latest fallen hero. Throughout the event various guest speakers, concerts and singers will provide an exciting and magnificent tribute to our deceased veterans.
  • Mon 5/29: CPRD Concert in the Park – Elton John Tribute (5PM)

    • Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and picnics, then sit back and relax to the sounds of summer! The Conejo Recreation & Park District Summer Concerts in the Park is back again in 2023!

  • The annual Butterflies Alive! summer exhibit at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History opens on Sat, 5/27

    • The Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History opens its popular summer exhibit Butterflies Alive! on Saturday, May 27th. Guests are invited to walk through a serene garden while nearly 1,000 live butterflies flutter freely around them. Various butterfly species cycle through the Sprague Butterfly Pavilion during the summer, so no two visits are the same.

From May 26 through May 30, 2023, For The Troops will have donation bins at the Reagan Library. Suggestion donation items include packets of trail mix, pre-packaged sealed food, powdered drink packets, batteries, individual personal care items, books, magazines, CDs and DVDs, and pre-paid phone cards.
