Hello, friends and neighbors! As a realtor passionate about our community, I’m thrilled to share some fantastic Fourth of July events happening right here in Ventura County and the Conejo Valley. But before we dive into the festivities, did you know that the first Fourth of July celebration took place in 1777, just a year after the Declaration of Independence was adopted? Fireworks, parades, and public readings of the Declaration were part of the tradition even back then, symbolizing freedom and patriotism. Now, let’s keep that tradition alive and make this year’s celebration unforgettable!

Thousand Oaks

• Conejo Recreation and Park District and City of Thousand Oaks 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular
  • Location: Hill behind the Hillcrest Center for the Arts
  • Best Viewing: Janss Marketplace & The Oaks Mall parking lots
  • Time: 9 p.m.
• Bethany Church on the Hill
  • Event: Fireworks Viewing
  • Time: 6 p.m.
  • Details: Free children’s activities, inflatables, refreshments available for purchase

Westlake Village

• Westlake Golf Course
  • Parade Line Up: 9:30 AM, Parade Begins at 9:45 AM
  • Fireworks: Begin at 9:10 PM
  • Activities: Begin at 6 PM, including family-friendly activities, music, and food trucks
• Westlake Yacht Club Celebration
  • Decorated Boat Contest
  • Parade: 11:30 AM
  • Activities: Pancake Breakfast begins at 8:30 AM with BBQ Jumbo Hot Dogs at 11:30 AM

Ventura

• 4th of July Street Festival and Annual Pushem-Pullem Parade
  • Parade Start: 10 AM
  • Location: Main Street and side streets
  • Details: Enjoy a vibrant street festival with artisans, food booths, vendor displays, and live music.
• Ventura Rotary Annual Fireworks Show and Family Picnic
  • Location: Ventura College Athletic Fields
  • Time: Starts at 5 PM
  • Details: Family picnic, live music, kids’ fun zone, followed by fireworks show

Additional Events

• Calabasas: No fireworks due to construction; Lakeside Fun Run and Summer Splash Party at Tennis & Swim Center
• Fillmore: Sespe Creek Car Show (July 4)
• Woodland Hills: July 4th Extravaganza at 6 PM, fireworks at 9 PM
• Carpinteria: Rods and Roses Classic Car Show (July 6), Independence Parade
• Santa Barbara: Fireworks at West Beach at 9 PM
• Malibu: No public fireworks; private displays off barges in the ocean
